As part of the ongoing revision of the ENER Lot 30 (motors) JBCE together with EPEE , CECED, DIGITALEUROPE and JRAIA have recently issued a joint position paper addressing some of the common concerns shared by these organizations with respect to the forthcoming ecodesign requirements for motors.
Of particular concern is that motors in products that are already covered by existing ecodesign requirements should be excluded from the scope of Lot 30 in order to avoid unnecessary “double-regulation” that will affect the competiveness of European producers. The joint paper also highlights that information requirements for exempted products should be deleted and that a transitional time is needed between the entry into force of the revised motor regulation and first set of requirements.
