JBCE welcomes the formal adoption by the Council today of the so called “non-financial disclosure” Directive. “From the beginning we have contributed to the debate at EU level to determine the best way of disclosing companies’ non-financial information,” said Yukako Kinoshita, Chair of the CSR Committee, JBCE. “We continue to support a flexible approach for companies to provide information on their long-term performance in a meaningful manner. We are especially pleased that the final text reflects our views on disclosure of diversity information.”

JBCE is committed to contributing to future discussions on this important issue, including the creation of a guidance document. JBCE members embrace corporate social responsibility as pivotal to the EU’s objectives of sustainable development and highly competitive social market economy. Business responsibility should go beyond administrative functions, enhanced disclosure and improved reporting and be embedded in companies’ missions.
