On 7 November, the JBCE co-hosted the EU-Japan Business Dialogue, “Contributing to global sustainability through collaboration and innovation”, with CSR Europe and CBCC. (CBCC (Council for Better Corporate Citizenship) was founded in 1989 by Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) as an incorporated association, and in June 2010, CBCC was certified as a public interest incorporated association)

This dialogue was held under umbrella of a third workgroup meeting of the “EU-Japan CSR Working Group” (a policy dialogue initiative by the European Commission and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)). In the presence of Mr. Pedro Ortun, Principal Advisor on Corporate Social Responsibility, DG GROW, and Mr. Takuya Fukumoto, Director of Industrial Finance Division, METI, almost 70 participants from European and Japanese companies discussed and shared common challenges and solutions, and explored good practices towards a stronger contribution to ensuring an environment for achieving the SDGs (the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals).
