On the 7th of January, JBCE submitted its response to the public consultation on the Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base (CCCTB), which is being re-launched by the European Commission.
JBCE is a long-term supporter of the CCCTB, believing it would be an advantageous system for Japanese multinational companies. JBCE has advocated for the swift adoption of the CCCTB ever since 2002, when the European Commission first floated the idea.
In its response, JBCE recommends that with the CCCTB, the European Commission and EU Member States should aim to create a simple, sensible and light-touch corporate tax system.
