From July 1, the Japan Business Council in Europe (JBCE) welcomes a new Secretary General, Mr. Kitayoshi Tsumita. In his role, Mr. Tsumita will support the over 70 JBCE Members, working closely with the EU institutions and other stakeholders to allow businesses of Japanese parentage operating in Europe to flourish.

“I believe JBCE Members still have untapped potential to further contribute to the European society and economy.” said Mr. Tsumita.

“In addition to those areas where JBCE has been historically active and of expertise, our next challenge should be found in such areas where new policies and new  business opportunities would emerge in the near future. Tackling with this new challenge, I believe JBCE can build a new era of cooperation between the EU and Japan.”

As Secretary General, he will continue the work of his predecessor, Mr. Yukihiro Kawaguchi, in order to grow the association in terms of membership, visibility, and contributions to EU policymaking.
