On 22nd March 2018, Mr. Kitayoshi Tsumita, JBCE Secretary General, was invited to the meeting on Intellectual Property Strategy at the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan, in the presence of Mr. Akira Amari, former Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy, other parliament members of the LDP, and officials from Ministries of Japanese Government.

Mr. Tsumita made a speech with a theme of ‘Participation of Japanese companies in rule formation in Europe – A good use of the Japan-EU EPA.’

After a presentation of the activities of JBCE, he explained the importance of contribution by Japanese companies for making rules in the European Union through lobbying. He further emphasised that participating in rulemaking in the EU would contribute to the global rulemaking.
